What is Erasmus+ Peacebuilders Network?

Take a look at our Journey – Idea to Inception.

The initial idea started to be developed in 2021 following the outbreak of military coup and conflict in Myanmar, when alumni from OCEANS network and Erasmus Mundus Association initiated ERASMUS+ Solidarity with Myanmar group and a consultative online meeting to discuss and plan solidarity actions with Myanmar and support our alumni in the country.

To get external support for the volunteer actions, a small team of Erasmus+ alumni applied for the grant from Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance to help with external experts and trainers in developing a peace support initiative under the name of Erasmus+ Peacebuilders Network.

The inception and planning meeting of the Erasmus+ Peacebuilders Network was held in hybrid form – physically In Istanbul and online from 4 different continents – in November, 2021, where a dozen experts on Youth, Peace & Security have discussed the creation of the network.

The network activities, which will happen online, will include:

Interactive discussion on peace-building frameworks
Sharing experiences on context based needs and challenges, and exploring
Response approaches
Peer support and mentoring
